ABOUT ME

   Christina Comley is a professional drummer and graduate of Musicians Institute, receiving the “Most Improved” award and Associates in drum performance in 2012. While attending Musicians Institute, she was shaped stylistically in the forms of rock, country, latin, pop, jazz, blues, hand technique, charting and reading, as well as piano, music theory and ear training.

    She currently performs with Kathy Valentine and the Bluebonnets (former bassist for the Go-Gos) and before that, she was with the dynamic Texas soul and funk band Roxy Roca where she had the opportunity to open for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Ludacris at Bayfest in Alabama. The band had many tours, a new video, and recorded a Christmas single.

   While living in Austin she played at ROT Rally at Circuit of the America, Austin Rodeo, Poteet Strawberry Festival, and on Balcony TV as well as venues like the original Austin City Limits, Austin 3ten at Austin City Limits, Paramount Theater opening for the Waterboys, The Continental Club, Threadgills, Maggie Maes, Clear Channel, Mowhawk, 6th street, and many others. She has also recorded with various artists including Dalton Rapattoni (runner up in American Idol).

 

   

   Raised in Dallas, Tx., she started playing at 14 years old. After being self taught for a year and then turning to various teachers, she quickly joined original and cover bands playing stages such as the Curtain Club, Liquid Lounge, and Reno’s to name a few. She also played and sang with her church choir for their annual choir tours during this time. After attending a junior college for audio engineering, she decided in 2010 to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for drumming.

   In Los Angeles, she was in various original bands ranging from Rock to Latin- Pop-Rock to Blues. There, she recorded, played on Bereavision television, played in local bars, and played festivals such as the East L.A. Music Festival and The Venice Summer Festival.
